Mr. William Carson Ratlief, 62, of Petersburg, West Virginia passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his home. He was born March 16, 1951 in Harrisonburg, Virginia and was the son of the late Nola Lee Hartman Nesselrodt and Warren Harding Ratlief. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on board the USS Sylvania (AFS-2) and the USS Elokomin (A0-55). He had worked for Dettinburn Trucking, Advantage Foods and Pilgrim's Pride Corp. Surviving are - One sister - Meretta S. Strong (& her husband, John) of Harrisonburg, VA Three brothers - Stanley A. Simmons (& his wife, Kay) of Upper Tract, WV Jerry L. Simmons of Maysville, WV Edwin G. Simmons (& his wife, Evon) of Brandywine, WV Preceding him in death were his friend and companion of 25 years, Ronald D. Weaver; two sister - Dorothy Shrader and Shirley I. Miller; and two brothers, Everette Shrader and Raymond W. Simmons. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, West Virginia with Pastor James Wood officiating.
