It is with profound sadness that the family of William Canter "Bill" Lambert announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the age of 59 years in Dover, Delaware.

William grew up in the wild and wonderful state of West Virginia, where he developed a passion for hunting, fishing and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He was a 1980 graduate of Franklin High School.  He had a love for classic rock music, and was the lead singer in several cover bands throughout the years.

He became a truck driver and later relocated to the State of Delaware, where he met his wife, Linda.  Together they enjoyed watching movies, traveling and barbecuing.  William was known for his excellent skills on the grill, and often times, was mistaken for the famous chef, Guy Fieri, which he, his family and friends found to be both funny and endearing.  He was a fun and loving guy with a contagious smile who was always the life of the party.

William was preceded in death by his father, Ray O. Lambert, Sr.

His body has been cremated and a celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 152 Golden Acorn Drive, Brandywine, WV  26802.  Dress casually, and if you have a Harley shirt, please wear that.  Bring a chair, a side dish or a dessert and help remember him.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of the Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Dover, Delaware for their compassionate and supportive care of William and his family.  They were his angels in scrubs, and the doctors, nurses and first responders were true heroes.

A private memorial service will be held in Delaware at a later date.
