Violet Virginia McCoy Kellison, 82, of Hillsboro, West Virginia passed away at her home after a long illness, with her family by her side, and under the care of Mountain Hospice on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

She was born April 16, 1940 at Esty, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late George Hedrick McCoy and Minnie Vance Cochran McCoy.

Mrs. Kellison was a 1958 graduate of Renick High School, and had retired from Denmar Hospital, where she had worked as a C.N.A. She was a loving wife and mother, and attended West View Baptist Church.

On July 18, 1958, she married Elbert Franklin "Bud" Kellison, who preceded her in death November 20, 2016.

One daughter –

Carolyn Rose (Thomas) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee

One sister –

Gladys McMillion of Pendleton Manor, Franklin, West Virginia

One granddaughter –

Takayla Salazar (Darien) of Beckley, West Virginia

And several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew –

Jimbo Kellison of Hillsboro

She was preceded in death by a son, Elbert "Buddy" Kellison II; a daughter, Patricia Nary; and two brothers, George Hedrick McCoy, Jr. and Edwin McCoy.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, June 19 at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday with Pastor Ron Kinzel officiating.

Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery at Hillsboro.
