Violet K. Hevener, 97, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at E. A. Hawse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Baker, WV.

She was born August 16, 1921 at Kline, WV and was the daughter of the late Oscar Armentrout and Phoebe Greenawalt Armentrout.

She was a cook for Pendleton County Schools and a homemaker.  Violet was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church.

On May 7, 1937, she married J. James Hevener, who preceded her in death on February 9, 1995.  Also preceding her in death were two sons, James "Dwight" Hevener and C. Steven Hevener; two daughters, Alma Wagoner and Sherry Lynn Kile; three brothers, Raymond Armentrout, Carroll Dahmer, Richard Armentrout and five sisters, Leota Kesner, Freda Harman, Arbelia Calhoun, Nellie Calhoun and Macie Mitchell.

She is survived by –

Leon (& Geraldine) Hevener of Upper Tract, WV

Hal (& Tina) Hevener of Brandywine, WV

Two daughters-in-law –

Evelyn Ratliff Hevener of Upper Tract, WV

Rita Hevener of Franklin, WV

One son-in-law –

David Kile of Franklin, WV

Thirteen grandchildren

Seventeen great-grandchildren

And eight great-great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church at Mozer, WV with Pastor David Webb officiating.

Interment will be at Kline Cemetery.
