Viola May Kimble, 94, of Upper Tract, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, February 29, 2012 at her daughter's home in Upper Tract. She was born in Kline, WV on July 18, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Carrie A. and Alvin S. Harman. Her husband, Olie F. Kimble, whom she was happily married to for 62 years, preceded her in death on November 13, 1996. Viola is survived by - Two sons - Reginald Kimble of Arthur, WV Alvin (& Annette) Kimble of Upper Tract, WV Four daughters - Mildred Riggleman of Upper Tract, WV Elaine Keplinger of Upper Tract, WV Kay (& Stanley) Simmons of Upper Tract, WV Wanda (& Bill) Showalter of Staunton, VA One foster daughter - Debbie (& Owen) Simmons of Franklin, WV Ten Grandchildren Twenty-seven Great-Grandchildren Thirteen Great-Great-Grandchildren A Sister-in-law - Lillian Harman of Kline, WV And many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins Viola was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen (Katie) Harman of Harrisonburg, VA and brother C.W. (Bud) Harman of Kline, WV. In 1982, she was honored as Mother of the Year by the Franklin Ruritan Club and was acknowledged as the Oldest Lady at the 2009 and 2011 Annual Kimble/Alt reunions. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also loved to cook and enjoyed inviting everyone to visit and have dinner. She always filled the table with many delicious home-cooked meals and was known for her kind heart and generosity. A charter member of the Brushy Run Church of God, she loved her church family and remained supportive until her passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Bruce Cosner officiating. Burial will be at Kline Cemetery. Friends may call at Kimble Funeral Home on Friday, March 2. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
