Mrs. Vida M. Wedding, 91, of Marlinton, WV passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

She was born November 3, 1926 at Blair Mountain, WV and was the daughter of the late Harry O. Morton and Emma Mae Thurman Morton.

Her father and grandfather were coal miners, moving the family to a number of coal mining towns before she graduated high school in 1948 from Fayette County High School.

Vida married Roy R. Wedding, who preceded her in death.  She worked as a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's oil delivery business. Vida was an avid coin collector, owned and loved cats and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She loved music of all kinds, and in her young adult years, was an accomplished player of the accordion. She was Methodist by faith.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded Vida in death.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff of the Pocahontas Center for the care and love shown to Vida during her stay with them.  We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Her body has been cremated.  All services will be private.
