Vernon Lee Wimer, 71, of Franklin, WV passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his home.

He was born July 4, 1947 at Franklin and was the son of the late Marion Vernon "Bill" Wimer and Bonnie Jean Hoover Wimer.

He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.  He had worked at Hanover Shoe Company and Bath County Pump Storage and as a carpenter.  He was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed visiting with friends and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On March 18, 1968, he married Shirley Ann Beverage Wimer, who survives.

Kristi (& Dave) Martin of Franklin, WV

One sister –

Linda Fay (& Gerald) Rexrode of Sugar Grove, WV

One brother –

Jerry Allen (& Ann) Wimer of Franklin, WV

And six grandchildren – Morgan, Chloe, Camden, Brody, Ashlyn and Chase.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael "Spud" Wimer.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kevin Hand and David Hartman officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
