Tamara Jo Sponaugle's Obituary
Tamara Jo Sponaugle, 47, of Rockingham, Virginia, and formerly of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.
She was born September 11, 1970 at Cleveland, Ohio and is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Harold and Patricia Judy Sponaugle of Rockingham, many aunts, uncles and adoring cousins.
Tamara's life was complicated by a very rare genetic disease that led to her being confined in a wheelchair all of her life. She did not complain or resent her life of being confined to a wheelchair, even though the last five years were the most difficult.
Tamara graduated from Lincoln West High School in Ohio in 1989. She attended Kent State University, Cuyahoga Community College and graduated from Heritage Baptist Institute in Brooklyn, Ohio. Prior to moving to Virginia, she worked for Allstate Insurance in Brooklyn.
Tamara particularly liked to hand out church tracts. She loved music, especially gospel music, and writing poetry. She also loved her chihuahua pets, Keno and Koka. Over the years, she became close to her caregivers, Carolyn, Rhonda and Monique. She was always interested in what activities her friends and cousins were doing. She attended Peoples Baptist Church in Penn Laird, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 13 with Pastor Richard Forsythe and Pastor Sam Harper officiating.
Entombment will be at North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton.
Memorials may be made to Christ Central Community Church, P. O. Box 1286, Franklin, WV 26807.
Tamara was an inspiration to all she came in contact with and she leaves us with these words -
Keep Looking Up
