Sondra Bee Cochran, 78, of Marlinton, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2024 while a resident at the Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

She was born September 26, 1945 at Elkins, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Jefferson William Nelson and Grace (Harper) Nelson.

She was a 1963 graduate of Marlinton High School and a graduate of Marshall University.  She had worked in the Pocahontas County Assessor's Office and was a member of the Marlinton United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing musical instruments and flowers.

On January 22, 1966 she married Harold Lee Cochran, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 26, 2022.

Misty Lea Cochran of Marlinton

One sister –

Barbara Jean Shaw (Norman) of Edray, WV

One brother –

Harper Nelson (friend, Nancy) of Marlinton

And several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Nelson and Robert Nelson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Lee Bailey officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Huntersville Baptist Church.
