Shirley Rosalie Hanlin, 97, of Paw Paw, WV passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Berkeley Springs Center in Berkeley Springs, WV.

She was born April 6, 1922 at Thomas, WV and was the daughter of the late Edward D. Nazelrod and Emma Margaret Cook Nazelrod.

Shirley attended Paw Paw High School and furthered her education by enrolling in various courses and classes over the years, including writing studies.  She was a prolific writer and left behind many pages reflecting her excellent writing skills.  She was very intellectual and easy to converse with.  Shirley's musical talents included playing the piano, the mandolin and the guitar.  She was a homemaker and attended the Paw Paw Church of God.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Hanlin, three brothers and two sisters.

And a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Kimble Funeral Home, 188 Moser Avenue, Paw Paw, WV where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday with Eldridge Kerns officiating.

Interment will be at Woodrow Cemetery.
