Mr. Russell David VanMeter, 82, of Upper Tract, WV, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born May 1, 1934 at Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Guy and Lydia VanMeter VanMeter.

He had worked at a sawmill and a paper mill in Ohio and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Dye VanMeter.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Ruddle Park.  Interment will be at the VanMeter Cemetery at Cabins, West Virginia.
