Roy E. "Nip" Kimble, 92, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

He was born August 29, 1926 at Smoke Hole, WV and was the son of the late Obed B. Kimble and Vergie Elizabeth Landes Kimble.

He was a laborer at Sugar Grove Naval Base Housing and did masonry work at the Mt. Storm VEPCO power plant.  He was a farmer and a member of the Local #984 Clarksburg Labor Union.  Roy was a member of the Church of God.

On April 17, 1949, he married Ada Ruthlean Simmons Kimble, who preceded him in death on April 8, 1997.

Mike Jeffrey Kimble (& Tina) of Flint Hill, VA

Three sisters –

Rosetta Hartman of Franklin, WV

Loretta Huffman (& Herbert) of Arthur, WV

Hilda Rohrbaugh of Maysville, WV

One brother –

Eston Delmas Kimble (& Mary) of Arthur, WV

Twelve grandchildren –

Debbie, Roger, Lou Ann, Shelia, Melinda, Patrick, Carrie, Jennifer, Stacy, Brandie, Cody and Jacob

One step-great-granddaughter

Ten great-grandchildren

And three great-great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rosalee Kimble, six brothers, Richard W. Kimble, Raymond Berkley Kimble, Harlan "Hun" Kimble, Donald "Joe" Kimble, Obed Ray "Gabe" Kimble, and Bobby D. Kimble and one sister, Gladys Whetzel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM Friday, September 28 with Rev. Stanley Kile and Bishop Ray Black officiating.

Interment will be at the Bowers Cemetery at Upper Tract.
