Roy G. "Chick" Bennett, 87, of Circleville, West Virginia passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born March 27, 1929 at Cherry Grove, West Virginia and was the son of the late Clinton M. Bennett and Peachie Nelson Bennett.

Roy was a 1946 graduate of Circleville High School.  He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and he retired from Allegheny Woods, where he was a lumber inspector. He was Methodist by faith.

On August 24, 1957, he married Betty Thompson Bennett, who survives.

Craig Bennett of Glen Burnie, MD

One sister –

Jacqueline Burkey of Tucson, AZ

Three grandchildren –

Jesse Bennett, Brandon Bennett and Daryl Bennett

And Nine great-grandchildren

Roy was preceded in death by one daughter, Billie Jo Bennett, one sister, Carolen Jane Hoover and six brothers, Maxwell Bennett, Milford Bennett, Harold Bennett, Glen Bennett, Wayne Bennett and Jimmie Bennett.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 10 in the Chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.

A military service will be conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home immediately following the service.

Interment will be at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton.
