Roger Lee Mitchell, 70, of Upper Tract, West Virginia passed away at his home on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

He was born March 21, 1954 at Petersburg, West Virginia and was the son of the late Carl Wilburn Mitchell and Macie Lee (Armentrout) Mitchell.

He was a 1972 graduate of Franklin High School and had worked at Ruddle Equipment and Franklin Oil Company.  In 1991, he became a poultry grower and over the years raised chickens for Perdue, Rockingham and Pilgrim's.  He was a member of the South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren, where he served as deacon, trustee and treasurer.

On December 8, 1977 he married Bonnie Gail (Hartman) Mitchell who survives.

A brother, Ralph Mitchell (Sue) of Upper Tract and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Smith, and a brother-in-law, Carroll Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, October 19 at Kimble Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor William Johnson officiating.

Interment will be at Kline Cemetery.
