Polly Anne Propst Thomason, 90, of Bridgewater, Virginia, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Bridgewater Retirement Community.

She was born February 2, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Daniel Michael Propst and Iva Margaret Propst.

Polly graduated from Franklin High School in 1950, and then moved to Washington, D.C., where she attended George Washington University.  She was an analyst for the CIA in Japan and Southeast Asia from 1955 – 1965.

On August 28, 1965, she married William R. "Dick" Thomason, and together they owned and operated Help Office Supply in Annapolis, Maryland until retiring in 1995.  After their retirement, they lived in Florida and South Carolina before settling in Bridgewater, Virginia in recent years.

Polly loved playing bridge and golf, and belonged to many clubs in both.  She was a Life Master in bridge and had made two holes in one in golf.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 57 years are –

Two stepdaughters –

Julie Thomason of Santa Rosa, California and Sarah Thomason of Eastbourne, England

A brother –

Roy Propst of Brandywine, West Virginia

And a number of nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elvin Propst and Hurl Propst, and three sisters, Norma Walker, Louise Vandevander and Wanda Eye Hedrick.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with Pastor Jess Felici officiating.
