Mr. Paul Eye Rexrode, 95, of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, where he had resided since 2008. He was born March 27, 1920 at Deer Run, WV and was the son of the late Glenn W. Rexrode and Myra Eye Rexrode. Paul was a descendant of Zachariah Rexroad, the first Rexroad known to settle in Pendleton County. Paul was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp, and was stationed in Panama. He was a farmer and stone mason and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin. Paul loved music, was a self-taught accordion player, and enjoyed playing hymns for family and friends. On September 4, 1946, he married Virginia Judy Rexrode. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on January 8, 1999. Surviving are - A daughter - Nancy R. Bradfield of Bridgewater, VA A son and daughter-in-law - Richard P. and Linda Rexrode of Franklin, WV One brother and sister-in-law - Fred and Louise Rexrode of Bridgewater, VA Two grandchildren - Stephanie Harman (and her husband, Bobby) Jason Rexrode (and his wife, Amy) One step-granddaughter - Anne Lowery (and her husband, William) Six great-grandchildren - Makenzie, Luke, Anna, Addie, Cole and Grant And numerous nieces and nephews Two sisters, Neva Hedrick and Leafy Rexrode, three brothers, Delton, Ervin and Virgil Rexrode, a grandson, Jeremy Rexrode and a son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Cecil Bradfield preceded him in death. The casket will be closed. The family will receive friends at Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2015. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastors Jason and Jess Felici officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Paul "Rex" Rexrode, Larry Rexrode, Stephen Rexrode, Kenneth Rexrode, Charles Rexrode, Fred Rexrode, Jr. and Paul's great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
