Mr. Paul Edgar Burns, Sr., (Dagwood), 75, of Mill Creek and formerly of Riverton, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Paul was born November 25, 1939 in Riverton, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Don Lester Burns and Mary Catherine Kile Burns. Mr. Burns attended Circleville High School, worked several jobs at Germany Valley Lime Plant, was a farm hand, worked in poultry farming and the fence stake business, and was a logger. He enjoyed playing softball with the "Monkeytowners", where he played the positions of pitcher and right field. He also liked to play horseshoes and some of his hobbies were gardening, deer hunting, working with animals and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was married to the late Karen Joy Cardinal until 1980. Mr. Burns is survived by - Two daughters - Mary Elizabeth Krenisky of Virginia Beach, Virginia Angela Renee Worthington and husband, Adam of Honolulu, Hawaii Three sons - Paul Edgar Burns, Jr. of Mill Creek, West Virginia Shannon Webster Burns and wife, Stephanie of Mill Creek, West Virginia Aaron Michael Cardinal and wife, Deanna of East Dailey, West Virginia One sister - Jean Simpson of Lansdowne, Maryland Two brothers - Charles A. Burns of Riverton, West Virginia Curtis E. Burns of Riverton, West Virginia Twelve grandchildren - Amanda Dawn Burns, Erica Ann Burns, Candie Renee Krenisky, Desire'e Jordan Burns, Jasmine Love' Burns, Bridget Joy Burns, Skyler Paige Worthington, Taylor Craig Worthington, Gavin Paul Worthington, Gage Wyatt Worthington,Joslyn Paige Cardinal and Gabriel Michael Cardinal Two great-grandchildren - Kadence Da'shea Watson and Braydan Craig Watson And several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were one infant daughter, Bridget Dawn Burns, five brothers - Richard Burns, Tommy Burns, Donald Burns, Joseph Burns and Carl Burns and three sisters - Pauline Bennett, Mildred Higgins and Sandra Burns. The family will receive friends at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.
