Mr. Otis Selmon, 102, of Cherry Grove, WV, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. He was born March 31, 1909 in Calhoun County, WV and was the son of the late Monroe and Hettie Selmon. Otis was retired from the West Virginia State Road Commission. Along with his late wife, Alice, he operated a farm in Cherry Grove. He also worked at various jobs in Ohio and Virginia and served as Franklin's town police officer in the late 1950's. He was a member of the North Fork Church of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Alice K. Selmon, on February 12, 2011. Four brothers and one sister also preceded him in death. He is survived by - One stepson - Don A. Mauzy of Lavon, TX Four grandchildren And five great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, WV with Vicar Jessie Hamme officating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, April 22 at the funeral home.
