Nellie L. "Scootie" Ricewick, 74, of Paw Paw, WV passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born February 22, 1947 at Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard Hayes and Edith Turner Hayes King.

Nellie lived in Paw Paw most of her life.  For many years she was a stay-at-home mom, and later entered the workforce at National Fruit and Consolidated Orchard.  She loved crafting, putting together puzzles, cooking, baking and going to yard sales.

William "Billy" Hayes of Paw Paw

Benny "Elmer" King of Paw Paw

Six grandchildren –

Matthew Gilpin, Brian Athey, Alexis Henson, Kailee Ullery, Zachary Gilpin

and Selena Rodriguez

Three step grandchildren –

Andrea, Mirah and Johnny Rodriguez

And three great-grandchildren –

Mason, Bristol and Baby Athey

Preceding her in death were –

One grandson, Brandon Athey; six brothers, Howard "Tony", Rodger, Keith, Johnny, Robert "Bobby" and Kenneth "Smoke" Hayes; and two sisters, Helen Hayes and Vivian Watson

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 25 at Kimble Funeral Home, 188 Moser Avenue, Paw Paw.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church with Darlene Powers officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service (1:00 – 2:00 PM).

Interment will be at Camp Hill Cemetery.
