Nancy L. Vandevander, 78, of Petersburg and formerly of Franklin, WV passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

She was born January 19, 1942 at Franklin and was the daughter of the late John Newton Murphy and Zadie Elizabeth Blizzard Murphy.

She worked at Franklin Garment Company, Franklin IGA and Family Dollar in Franklin, Moorefield and Petersburg, where she retired as manager.  She was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge Ladies of the Moose.

William Vandevander (& wife, Debra) of Maysville, WV

James Vandevander (& friend, Andra Warner) of Broadway, VA

One sister -

Mary Lou Murphy of Petersburg, WV

One brother -

William "Bill" Murphy of Franklin, WV

Four grandchildren -

Stephanie Vandevander, Allison Vandevander, B. J. Vandevander and Justin Vandevander

Four step-grandchildren -

Jesslyn Dunsmore, Stephanie Kesner, Curtis Kesner III and Brian Kesner

Four step great-grandchildren -

Landon Dunsmore, Elizabeth Dunsmore, Natalee Kesner and Asharra Kesner

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Vandevander; a brother, Johnny Murphy; a grandson, Jonathan Vandevander and a step-great-grandson, Caden Kesner.

Her body has been cremated and her family will commemorate her life privately.
