Mr. Michael Mynuk, Jr., 86, of Marlinton, WV passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. He was born January 29, 1927 at Berwick, PA and was the son of the late Michael Mynuk, Sr. and Nellie Evanko Mynuk. Michael had worked for U.S. Steel in Pennsylvania from 1957 - 1983. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Marlinton and V.F.W. WV Post 4595. He had served as Pocahontas County Commissioner from 1992 - 1998. On January 3, 1951, he married Grace Virginia Gay Mynuk, who survives. Also surviving are - One brother - John Mynuk of Claymont, Delaware A grandson - Eric Mynuk and his wife, Calia of Las Vegas, NV A granddaughter - Tatiana Mynuk of Lewisburg, WV And a great-grandson - Ian Mitchell He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Michael Mynuk (Jan. 26, 1952 - Dec. 29, 2012) and his daughter-in-law, Linda Suzanne Mynuk (July 22, 1955 - March 30, 2013). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Marlinton with Father Thomas Chacko officiating. Ronald Sharp, Donald Sharp, Dave Cox, James Waugh, Randy Stemple, Greg Mosesso and Judd Worth will serve as his pallbearers. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton with military graveside services conducted by members of the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
