Michael Eugene Hartman, Sr., 59, of Thurmont, MD and formerly of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born May 29, 1957 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and was the son of the late Wanda Mae Hevener Hartman (1936 – 1961) and Eugene Hartman of Franklin and the stepson of Maggie Judy Hartman of Franklin.

He was an auto mechanic, a life insurance agent, a bail bondsman, and a CDL driver.  Michael loved music, sang in a barbershop chorus, enjoyed movies, reading and cats.  He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and attended Deerfield United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday, February 12 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, West Virginia.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 13 at Franklin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Hand and Pastor Ray Dudley officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
