Maurice Wayne Downs, 65, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home in O'Fallon, IL. He was born June 16, 1945 at Alexandria, VA and was the son of the late Philip S. Downs and Mary J. Smith Downs. Mr. Downs was a retired firefighter and a lifetime member of the Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge. He is survived by - His loving wife - Donna Minnick Downs of O'Fallon, IL Two sons and their wives - Brian & Oksana Downs of Leesburg, VA Christopher & Kara Downs of Garland, TX One daughter and her husband - Kimberly & Dennis Grotsky of O'Fallon, IL One brother - Philip Downs of Springfield, VA Nine grandchildren - Jeff, Brad, Elizabeth, Skyler, Dmitri, Maria, Michael, Kate and Lilly One niece and her two children - Tara Kelley, Ian and Amelia Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 7, 2010 at St. Paul's Independent Lutheran Church at Moyers, West Virginia with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery at Moyers, West Virginia. Pendleton Lodge #144 A.F. & A.M. will conduct graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
