Mary "Ruth" Propst, 85, of Hinton, VA and formerly of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA.

She was born June 21, 1935 at Franklin and was the daughter of the late William Harrison Kile and Dessie Mae Kesner Kile.

Ruth had worked at Wampler's, Shifflett's, Traditions and Thomas House.  She was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Hinton.  She loved arranging flowers and decorating cakes of all kinds, but her passion was to make everyone around her happy.

On July 13, 1953, she married Jimmie Lewis Propst, who survives.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Oliver Kile, Vernon Kile, Robert "Bob" Kile and Walter Kile; two half-brothers, Frank Kile and Jesse Kile and a half-sister, Myrtle Mitchell.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street in Franklin.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Oaklawn Cemetery near Franklin with Rev. Gordon Meriwether officiating.
