Mary Lee Heavner, 86, of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

She was born May 29, 1940, in Franklin and was the daughter of the late Russell E. Heavner and Gertrude (Lough) Heavner.

She was a 1958 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1961 graduate of the Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked at Peoples Drugstore in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Franklin Garment Company and Hanover Shoe Company.  She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and found much pleasure in spending time with her dogs and cats.  Mary Lee very much enjoyed watching her great-nephew, Ty Heavner, play football for the Pendleton County Wildcats and she was an avid fan of all WVU Mountaineers sporting events.

Joe Heavner (Anna) of Franklin

Jerry Heavner (Phyllis) of Franklin

A sister-in-law –

Louise Heavner of Harrisonburg

And a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Diane Mason Fleishman

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Heavner, and two sisters, Alice Heavner and Betty Lou Heavner Mason.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 10 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
