Mary Lee Martin Harper, 86, of Salisbury, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Atria Assisted Living in Salisbury surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Brandywine, WV on June 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert Guy Martin and Lottie Virginia Kiser Martin.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1949.  After attending Catherman's Business School in Cumberland, Maryland, she worked for the Kelly Springfield Tire Company.

She married the love of her life, Leroy Harper, on August 13, 1955.

After her marriage, Mary Lee was a homemaker.  In 1965, they settled in Damascus, Maryland, where she enjoyed working in and preserving the harvest of their large vegetable garden and blueberry and raspberry patches, helping her children with their 4-H and FFA beef cattle and chicken projects, and was an active member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church.  In 2007, she and Leroy retired to Salisbury, Maryland to be nearer family.

In addition to her loving husband of 62 years, Mary Lee is survived by –

Timothy (& wife, Lindsay) of Boonville, NC

Anthony of Virginia Beach, VA

Two great-grandchildren –

Kara and Michael

Col. (Ret.) Robert I. Sickler, Jr.

And a sister-in-law –

Margaret Harper of Franklin, WV

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Ruth Petrie and Gladys Sickler and three brothers-in-law – John G. Petrie, Eugene Harper and Johnnie Carroll Harper.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.  A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Loudermilk officiating.

Interment will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
