Mabel Blanche Rider, 95, of Marlinton, WV passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1917 at Minnehaha Springs, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Bedford Alderman and Willa McComb Alderman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cochran Creek Independent Baptist Church and has been a resident of the Pocahontas Center in Marlinton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Watson Combs in 2000 and also her second husband, Gratton Rider. Surviving are - Two daughters - Lucy E. West of Marlinton, West Virginia Helen Rukaveno of Salem, Oregon Three sons - Lige Combs of Huttonsville, WV Richard Combs of Marlinton, WV Kenton Combs of Marlinton, WV Ten grandchildren Seventeen great-grandchildren And four great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Combs, four brothers, six half-brothers and two half-sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Kimble Funeral Home, 650 Seneca Trail, North, Marlinton, West Virginia with Pastor Roger Frame officiating. Burial will be at the Alderman/Wade Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton from 2:00 - 3:00 PM on Sunday.
