Lula Belle Hevener Kline, 86, of Franklin, passed away July 19, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a brief illness.

Born on March 21, 1935 in Deer Run, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ezra and Rena Mae (Dahmer) Hevener, the youngest of their seven children.  Lula Belle was a 1953 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown.  She worked for a physician in Washington, DC, in the laboratory at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA, and retired in 1989 after a long career as financial secretary and treasurer for Pendleton County Schools.

Lula Belle was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church, where she served as the organist for over 50 years.  In the church, she also served as a ruling elder, treasurer, and moderator of Presbyterian Women.  In 1993, she was honored as a Life Member of Presbyterian Women.  She was also a member of the West Virginia Association of Retired School Personnel, and the Pendleton County Chapter of the WVARSP.  She was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Pendleton County, and participated in the annual Relay for Life for many years.

On September 3, 1955, she married Thomas Reon Kline, who survives in Franklin.  Also surviving are one daughter, Kimberly Sue Kline, of Franklin; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon Thomas and Amy Bisceglia Kline, of Morgantown; a grandson, Carter Jon Kline; and a granddaughter, Courtney Jean Kline, both of Morgantown, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Sue Teter Kline of Fulshear Texas; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Curtis and Emery in infancy, Alfred Claude Hevener, John Audrith Hevener, and Roy Moomau Hevener, and one sister, Viola Kathryn Hevener Watson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 24 in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Fletcher Hutcheson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
