Mr. Lester Mauzy, Jr., 88, of Sugar Grove, WV passed away Saturday March 21 at his home. He was born December 4, 1926 at Circleville, West Virginia and was the son of the late Lester Mauzy, Sr. and Anna Arbogast Mauzy Nelson. Lester had worked for Earl Harman's Meat Market in Petersburg and Hill's Store and Bowman's Store in Franklin. He later moved to Maryland, where he worked as a carpenter. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, attended St. Paul's Independent Lutheran Church, was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #769, V.F.W. Post #2562 and American Legion Post #268 in Wheaton, Maryland. On November 30, 1968, he married Myrtle Stover Mauzy, who survives. Also surviving are - Three daughters - Dolly Leslie (& Danny) of Staunton, VA Terry Sykes (& Robert) of Winchester, VA Roberta Mauzy (& Hank) of Gainesville, VA Four sons - Timmy Mauzy (& Audrey) of California Michael Mauzy (& Cija) of Clarksburg, WV John Alan Mauzy of Sugar Grove, WV Richard Lee Mauzy (& Nicole) of Maryland One sister-in-law - Gladys Stover of Sugar Grove, WV Thirteen grandchildren Eleven great-grandchildren And four great-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by two sons - Lester Mauzy III and Lester Allen Mauzy and a grandson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, West Virginia with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Franklin, West Virginia with military graveside services conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, March 27 at Kimble Funeral Home.
