Leafy A. Rexrode, 92, of Franklin, WV passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin. She was born March 21, 1923 at Deer Run, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Glenn W. Rexrode and Myra Eye Rexrode. Leafy was a descendant of Zachariah Rexroad, the first Rexroad known to settle in Pendleton County. She was a 1942 graduate of Franklin High School and later graduated from Potomac State College. She worked for the Dept. of Human Services for 22 years. Leafy was a very dedicated and active member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church, where she was the first female elder, a choir member, and a life member of the Presbyterian Women. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Pendleton Manor and the Pendleton County Committee on Aging. She also loved quilting and helping her friends and neighbors. On June 15, 1945, she married Roy E. Rexrode, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1996. She is survived by - One daughter and son-in-law - Kitty and Richard Carson of Franklin, WV One son and daughter-in-law - Kenneth and Carol Rexrode of Kirby, WV Two brothers - Paul Rexrode of Pendleton Manor, Franklin, WV Fred Rexrode (& his wife, Louise) of Bridgewater, VA Five grandchildren - Susan Moeller Melinda Shelton Michaal See Dan Rexrode and Mark Rexrode And ten great-grandchildren One sister, Neva Hedrick, and three brothers, Samuel, Ervin and Virgil Rexrode preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Franklin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Hand officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM (the service hour) at the Franklin Presbyterian Church. Paul Rexrode, Larry Rexrode, Charles Rexrode, Fred Rexrode, Jr., Stephen Rexrode, Richard Rexrode, Dan Rexrode, Mark Rexrode, Ed Rader and Jerry Harrison will serve as her pallbearers.
