Lanny Allen Marshall, 66, of Franklin, West Virginia passed away at his home on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

He was born July 16, 1955 at Harrisonburg, Virginia and was the son of the late Samuel Ronald Marshall and Margie Johnson Clower.

A 1973 graduate of Franklin High School, Lanny had worked at Tyson and Cargill, and as a heavy equipment operator at the Bath County, VA pumped storage project, Hott & Miller and Simmons Backhoe Service.  He also worked as a logger with both Leonard Landis and David Bowers.  Lanny was a jack of all trades and felt dedicated to helping others.  When his son was young, Lanny very much enjoyed attending his ball games and served as a Webelos Leader for Boy Scouts of America Pack #0162 in Franklin.  He loved fishing and hunting and was a member of Franklin Moose Lodge #769.

Friends may call at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin after 9:00 AM Tuesday, March 1.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Tuesday.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating.  Dennis Jamison, Mike Johnson, Tommy Wise, Tommy Wise, Jr., Eddie Simpson and Lynn Warner will serve as his pallbearers.
