Mr. Kermit Adam Judy, age 94, of Franklin, West Virginia died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Jennie Hott. He was born March 3, 1918 at Timber Ridge near Circleville, WV and was the son of the late Early Thomas and Monna Roxie Sponaugle Judy. Kermit was a 1936 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Shenandoah College in Dayton, VA. He worked at the sawmill in Franklin for 21 years under Sam Byrd, B.J. Aulde and Max Ruddle,the West Virginia Division of Highways, and retired in April of 1985 after sixteen years as an electrician for Navy Civil Service at the Sugar Grove Naval Base. Kermit was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin and enjoyed woodworking and puzzles. On April 2, 1939, he married Buanna Cornelia Hartman Judy, who passed away on August 8, 1999. He is survived by - Two daughters - Barbara Harman and husband, Kelly of Harrisonburg, VA Jennie Hott and husband, Jeff of Franklin, WV One son-in-law - George Wilson of Bridgewater, VA Eight grandchildren - Gregory Harman and wife, Kathy of Hagerstown, MD Tracy Brewer and husband, John of Albuquerque, NM Matthew Wilson and wife, Vikki of Lexington, KY Lori Efird of Staunton, VA Abbie Cannon and husband,Jim of Hendersonville, NC Allie Ross and husband, Wayne of Des Moines, IA Emilie Hott of Franklin, WV Adam Hott and wife, Katie of Franklin, WV Twenty-three great-grandchildren - Michael, Christopher, Ryan, Jennifer and Darren Harman, Steven, Jason and Jeffrey Brewer, Kyle, Kayleigh, Nathan, Ashleigh and Ryleigh Wilson Alexander, Maggie and Andrew Efird Trey, Jackson, Samuel and Shelbie Cannon, Audrey, Olivia and Whitney Ross Three brothers - Gayle Judy and wife, Hester of Luray, VA Earl Judy of Castleton, VA Gary Judy and wife, Carole Faye of Glasgow, VA Three sisters - Bernice Fortner of Fairmont, WV Ina Kuehl and husband, Dick of Pinehurst, NC Patty Sponaugle and husband, Harold of Franklin, WV Preceding him in death were a daughter, Harriet Wilson, a great-granddaughter, Hope Wilson, two brothers, Guy Judy and Richard Judy and one sister, Ethel Hall. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin with Bishop Jay Hartman presiding. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
