Mr. Kenneth Eugene Irvine, 47, of Marlinton, West Virginia, departed this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home after a short struggle with a glioblastoma brain tumor.

Kenneth was born on July 4, 1968, the son of Alice Irvine and the late Dolan Irvine.  In addition to his dad, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Naomi Kelly, and Verlin Irvine and Elsie Irvine Napier and also an uncle, Riger Irvine.

In addition to his mom, he is survived by his three sons – Clayton Cole, a student at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy; Adam Wesley, a student at Glenville State College; and Ryan Patrick, a junior at Pocahontas County High School.

He is also survived by his brother, Kevin and his wife, Pamela, and their two daughters, Kelly and Jamie of Poca, WV.  In addition, he is survived by his uncles and aunts, Jim and Eileen Irvine of Marlinton, Tom and Sarah Sanders of Beverly, and Eugene and Karen Kelly of Covington, Virginia.  He is also survived by his special friend and caregiver, Delia Delgado of Morgantown and a host of cousins and many friends.

Kenneth graduated from Pocahontas County High School and West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He was employed by the U.S. Forest Service, Marlinton Ranger District.  He held a special certification as an advanced chainsaw operator and was certified to conduct chainsaw operation certification classes for forestry service employees.

The family extends a special thanks to his immediate family, his Forest Service family, his neighbors and the hospice workers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Kimble Funeral Home, 18942 Seneca Trail, Marlinton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor Jess Felici and Pastor Jason Felici of New Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at the White Cemetery at Minnehaha Springs, WV.
