Julianne Marie Kelsey passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, ending her courageous battle with the blood cancer, multiple myeloma.

Julianne was born and raised in Latrobe, PA, the daughter of Roger and Jo Ann Roney Kelsey, currently of Fredericksburg, VA.

Julianne taught Biology and Science classes at Stafford High School, Stafford, VA until taking early retirement in 2021. Julianne graduated as a National Honor Society student from Greater Latrobe High School, Latrobe, PA, and earned a B.S. in Biology and a M.A. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. She completed a Masters of Instructional Technology from Troy University, Troy AL, and received her Educational Leadership Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Professionally she was a member of the Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society.

Julianne was instrumental in helping to establish Girls Lacrosse in the Stafford County High Schools. She coached Lacrosse at Stafford High School for several years. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of American Revolution and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles T. and Nola Bennett Kelsey of Cherry Grove, Pendleton County, WV and Joseph C. and Helen Marie Greelish Roney of Oneida, NY. She was also preceded by uncles: Charles (Ted) Kelsey, SD.; MSGT (Retired) Richard T. Kelsey, NC; Dr. Ronald L. Kelsey, VA; and Dr. Kenneth L Kelsey, NV, and by aunts: Doris Kelsey Kaminski, CA; Avonelle Kelsey Anderson, SD; Bonita Roney Silvia, NY; Rosalind Roney White, NY; and Anna Roney Snyder, NY.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated December 17, 2021, at Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, VA.  Inurnment, under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home, will take place at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery at a future date.
