Juanita Hartman Self, 88, of Mechanicsville, Virginia (formerly of Franklin), departed this life to enter her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

She was born November 24, 1934 and was one of sixteen children of the late John Esby Hartman and Mary Lena Simmons Hartman.

Juanita was a devoted lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She was a hard worker, a skilled seamstress, an excellent cook, and a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed working on her search-a-word puzzles, and her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Her husband of 26 years, Harmen E. Self, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Monday, March 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday with Elder David Hartman officiating.

Interment will be at the Kimble Cemetery in Smoke Hole.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
