Mr. John David Vogel, 47, of Franklin, WV passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his home.

He was born September 4, 1969 in Washington, D.C., and was the son of Jack D. and Ruth Starr Vogel of Franklin.

John was a 1987 graduate of Franklin High School and received his Communications Degree from WV State College in Institute, WV.  He had previously worked at Graham Packaging in Harrisonburg and attended the Franklin Church of God.

John loved people and volunteered at Pendleton Senior Center in Franklin.   In high school, he made All-State in the choir, and sang in his church choir and the Pendleton Community Choir for many years.  He enjoyed archery, baseball, basketball, swimming, horses and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a special uncle, Joe A. Vogel (& his wife, Rose) of Show Low, Arizona, a cousin, Traci Vogel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a second cousin, Laken Vogel of Chicago, Illinois.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, WV.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Rob Borror and Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
