John Paul Propst, 76, of Brandywine, WV died Friday, December 17, 2010 at Harrisonburg Health & Rehab. He was born March 6, 1934 at Brandywine, West Virginia and was the son of the late William Cecil Propst and Beulah Hoover Propst. He had worked at Rocco and was a member of the Bethlehem Church of the Brethren. John was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Branham Propst, whom he married on July 30, 2005. Also surviving are - Four daughters - Katrina Lintz of Hinton, VA Veronica Losh of Brandywine, WV Carrie Simmons of Hinton, VA Rosa Propst of Brandywine, WV Three sons - Jackie Calhoun of Ft. Seybert, WV Tommy Ware of Lynchburg, VA Paul Eugene Thompson of Brandywine, WV Five sisters - Betty Wolfe of Franklin, WV Wanda (& her husband, Roscoe) Roberts of Burnsville, VA Hilda (& her husband, Albert) Moats of McDowell, VA Helen (& her husband, Harry) Raines of Franklin, WV Carolyn Propst (& Allen Bussard) of Franklin, WV Two brothers - Arlie (& wife, Susan) Propst of Warm Springs, VA Bobby (& wife, Rosa) Propst of Brandywine, WV Twelve grandchildren Eight great-grandchildren Preceding him in death were his former companion, Faye I. Calhoun, and one sister, Anna Lou Propst. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, WV with Pastor Richard Lintz officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery at Franklin with military graveside services by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Daniel Propst, Dale Propst, Douglas Propst, Bobby Propst, Jr., Michael Moats, Eugene Alexander, Rocky Bussard and Charlie Ruckman will serve as his pallbearers.
