John A. Mauzy, Sr., 50, of Sugar Grove, West Virginia passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his home.

He was born July 29, 1971 at Bethesda, Maryland and was the son of Myrtle Stover Mauzy of Sugar Grove and the late Lester Mauzy, Jr.

John was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, was an over the road truck driver for Chris Alt Trucking of Moorefield and he also drove for Loudoun Milk Company of Purcellville, Virginia.

He was a loving father, a caring son and a compassionate friend.  He was also a lifelong NASCAR and college football fan, as well as a huge fan of the NFL.  John believed in Jesus Christ, and he loved the holidays and all the decorations that came with them.  He collected all things Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Spending time and caring for John in his final days were Myrtle Mauzy, Tim Hook, John Mauzy, Jr., Loretta Cook, Richard Mauzy and his cousin, Jerry Barton.

Robbie Mauzy (Hank) of Las Vegas, NV

Four grandchildren -

Braylan Mauzy, Walker Hook, Raelynn Hook and Brooklyn Hook

And a number of nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Loudermilk officiating.

Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery near Franklin.
