Jimmie Douglas Smith, 76, of Harrisonburg, VA departed this life on October 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 21, 1936 at Ruddle, WV and was the son of the late Olin and Margaret Miller Smith. Jimmie was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School. He loved construction and sold equipment until he found his passion for selling Lincolns. He worked for King Lincoln Mercury in Gaithersburg, MD until he retired in 2001 and then worked at Bob Wade Auto World until an accident in 2010. The real love of his life was his wife and family and his belief in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which he was a member. Surviving are - His wife - Betty Waybright Smith, whom he married on March 27, 1961 Two sons - Anthony Smith and his wife, Janet of Bridgewater, VA Michael Smith of Hyattsville, MD One daughter - Kristie Siron and her husband, Douglas of Doe Hill, VA Two sisters - Lucy Propst and her husband, Delbert of Sugar Grove, WV Beulah (Peggy)Hoover and her husband, Jerry of College Park, MD His grandchildren - Adam Smith, Justin Siron, Rebekah Powers, Jessie Siron and Aaron Smith Great granddaughter - Ansley Powers Great grandsons - Reid, Isaak and Jonathon Smith He was preceded in death by three brothers - Olin Smith, Gerald Smith and Gene Smith. The family will receive friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 210 South Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22801 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin, WV with Bishop Seth Stratford, Bishop Jay Hartman and Elder David Hartman officiating. Burial will be at the Ruddle Church Cemetery near Franklin, West Virginia.
