Mr. Jerry Lee Judy, 61, of Winchester, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1952 in Fairmont, West Virginia and was the son of Evelyn (Sites) Judy of Strasburg, VA and the late Richard Thomas Judy (DOD 3-14-2006). While attending school and growing up in Fairmont, Jerry was involved in Boy Scouts and numerous other youth organizations. He moved to Strasburg, VA in December of 1971, attended Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Virginia and worked at Shen-Paco Industries (formerly the Shenandoah County Sheltered Workshop) doing woodworking, a lifelong hobby. He later volunteered at Winchester Medical Center and assisted with training at Grafton School. He was active with the Independent Living Center when he first moved to Winchester, VA, eventually moving into his own house, which he shared with Andy, his very loved cat. His passion about cars was shared with his dad. He loved attending car shows and helping his dad diagnose the "noise" in the car motor. He could identify the year, make and model of a car on the road or from a blurry picture. Jerry had a vast collection of model cars in which he took pride, especially if the reproduction was detailed and accurate. He collected coins, Coca Cola memorabilia, radios and anything about Fairmont, WV. A favorite treat was always a pepperoni roll in Fairmont. Surviving in addition to his mother are - A sister and brother-in-law - Katharine (Judy) Hardy & Christopher Hardy of Fairfax Station, VA His nephew - Tristan Hardy of Alexandria, VA His niece - Brittanie Hardy Goldsmith and her husband, Nathan Goldsmith of Arlington, VA And numerous aunts, uncles and cousins A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the Judy Family Cemetery, Smith Creek, Franklin, West Virginia with Rev. David Howard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Friday May 31 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, West Virginia 26807. A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church, Strasburg, VA with Rev. David Howard officiating.
