Janis Nadeen Propst, 95, of Brandywine, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at her home.

She was born September 26, 1930, in Brandywine, and was the daughter of the late Irvin Upton Propst and Millie Marie (Eye) Propst.

She was a 1949 graduate of Franklin High School and a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton "Jack" Propst, on April 26, 1993.  A brother, Jolee Propst, a sister, Arvella Rexrode, and a grandson, Andrew Propst, also predeceased her.

Surviving are –

One daughter – Gwen Sampson-Jones (Ray Showden) of Greenbelt, MD

One son  - Randy Propst (Holly) of Flint Hill, VA

One brother – Delbert "Bud" Propst of Brandywine

And two grandchildren – Matthew Sampson and Gunnar Propst

A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, 181 Pine Hill Lane, Brandywine at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 1.  A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 Noon Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5545 Sugar Grove Road, Brandywine with Pastors Angela Lambert and Paul Schafer officiating, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall.
