James E. Simmons' Obituary
James E. Simmons, 80, of Franklin, West Virginia passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Sentara RMH.
He was born April 5, 1935 at Propst Gap, Franklin, West Virginia and was the son of the late Edwin Simmons and Beulah Evick Simmons.
James was a farmer and had worked for Thompson Esso, Bowers Meat Market, Ruddle Saw & Equipment, Hevener Motor Equipment, Mon Power (as a line builder), Atlantic Oil Company, Dixie Gas, Sites Mobile Home, Evick's Construction, Hartman Cable and Hartman Furniture Store. James was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church.
On August 9, 1958, he married Bonnie Alexander Simmons, who survives.
Also surviving are –
One daughter – Amanda Simmons (& Brian Adams) of Franklin, WV
And two grandsons – Alex Adams and Zander Adams of Franklin, WV
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Kevin Hand and Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorials may be made to the Franklin Presbyterian Church Stained Glass Window Covering Fund, 3512 Blue Gray Trail, Franklin, WV 26807 or Franklin Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 966, Franklin, WV 26807.
