James "Jim" B. Blizzard, 90, of Brandywine, WV passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV.

He was born July 9, 1930 at Dunbar, WV and was the son of the late Andrew Thomas Blizzard and Hallie May Nunley Blizzard.

Jim was a 1948 graduate of Dunbar High School and attended West Virginia State University, West Virginia University and Ohio State University, where he received his B.S. in Science. He was a Veteran, having served as an aviation electrician in the United States Navy from 1950 – 1954.  Jim had worked as a plant superintendent at Broughton Farm Dairy and United Dairy, taught Vocational Agriculture at Barnesville High School in Ohio, worked as a consultant for Norwood Construction and worked fourteen years as a construction foreman/superintendent for Armco Steel, now AK Steel.  He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where he served as deacon and taught the Adult Sunday School Class.  He was a life member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association, past post Commander of American Legion Post #30, a life member of the Sugar Grove V.F.W. Post #9666, a founding member of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard and a past board member at the Pendleton County Library.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Adams Blizzard on June 20, 1970. Three brothers, Thomas Blizzard, Joseph Blizzard and John Blizzard; four sisters, Betty Sue Rudsinke, Mary Hall, Edith Christian and Shirley Mullenax; a daughter, Teresa Ann Blizzard and a son, John Blizzard also predeceased him.

Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 10.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, March 11 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Felici officiating.

Interment will be at Friends Cemetery in Quaker City, Ohio.
