Hayward F Colaw's Obituary
Hayward F. Colaw, 96, of Franklin, West Virginia and formerly of Durbin, West Virginia passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
He was born June 20, 1919 in Durbin, WV and was the son of the late James Colaw and Mary Annis Gragg Colaw.
He worked at Howe's Leather as a leather grader, and was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Hayward was a member of the Durbin Church of the Brethren.
On December 8, 1945, he married Edna Hevener Colaw, who preceded him in death on February 14, 2002.
He is survived by –
One daughter and son-in-law –
Rebecca C. and John Michael Jenkins of Franklin, WV
One brother –
Junior Colaw of Colonial Nursing Home, Elkins, WV and his wife, Kathleen
Two granddaughters –
Amy Moyers (& husband, Brad)
Jennifer Hartwell (& husband, Nathan)
And four great-grandchildren –
Abby Moyers, Ryan Moyers, Jacob Hartwell and Benjamin Hartwell
Hayward was preceded in death by two brothers – Russell Colaw and Vernon Colaw and three sisters – Monna Feather, Velma Sutton and Willa Smith.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 noon (the service hour) on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday in the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Rev. David Rittenhouse, Rev. Donnie Curry and Rev. Kevin Hand officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 PM Thursday in the Gum Cemetery at Durbin, West Virginia with Rev. David Collins officiating, and military services will be conducted by members of the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
Memorials may be made to the Pendleton Manor Building Fund, P. O. Box 700, Franklin, WV 26807.
