Mr. Harold Phares Waggy, 72, of Franklin, West Virginia died Monday, October 8, 2012 at his home. He was born September 4, 1940 at Reeds Creek, West Virginia and was the son of the late Harvey Floyd Waggy and Margie Phares Waggy. A 1958 graduate of Franklin High School, he was a poultry grower and a farmer. It was on his family's farm that Harold started farming as a very young boy alongside his father, Floyd Waggy. He realized his love of farming and continued in his father's footsteps. Harold began his over forty year career in poultry, raising belts and most recently raising hen turkeys for Cargill. He also raised cattle and sheep. He was a member of the West Virginia Farm Bureau and was honored to be named a lifetime member of the West Virginia Poultry Association in 2011. On June 23, 1965, he married Lucille Miller Waggy, who survives. Also surviving are - Two daughters - Connie Miller (& Bruce) of Dayton, VA Melody Waggy (& Tommy) of Franklin, WV One son - Doug Waggy (& Michiko) of Funabashi, Chiba, Japan One sister - Ruby Kimble of Mt. Airy, MD Two brothers - Richard Waggy (& Joyce) of Crimora, VA Wayne Waggy (& Mae) of Franklin, WV One grandson - Blaze Harold Waggy One step-grandson - Shoma Waggy One step-granddaughter - Lauren Jacobs He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmie Waggy, and two sisters, Hazel Harper and Rozelva Waggy. Friends may call at any time after 12:00 noon on Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Private interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with Pastor John Jantzi officiating.
