Harlan W. Kimble, 87, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home.

He was born at Smoke Hole, West Virginia on July 27, 1928 and was the son of the late John E. Kimble and Zadie Kisamore Kimble.

He was a pipeline construction worker and a member of the Teamsters' Union.  Harlan was in the restaurant business for over forty years, including Dick's Restaurant and Trailer Court at Ruddle and the Upper Tract Restaurant.  He was a member of the Upper Tract Volunteer Fire Dept. and attended Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church.

On November 23, 1949, he married Ressie Alt Kimble, who survives.

Greg Kimble (& wife, Debbie) of Petersburg, WV

Kent Kimble (& wife, Donita) of Franklin, WV

David Spitzer (& wife, Sara) of Elkton, VA

One sister –

Thelma Mullenax (& husband, Carl) of Petersburg, WV

One brother –

Carl Kimble (& wife, Arlena) of Petersburg, WV

Sixteen grandchildren

And sixteen great-grandchildren

He was preceded by four brothers, Virgil Kimble, Eston Kimble, Alvie Kimble and Ison Kimble and five sisters, Arvella Cobb, Dolly Kile, Joy Lambert, Evelyn Huffman and May Kimble.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, West Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, May 20 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
