Gladys Wimer Mcquain Wolf's Obituary
Gladys Wimer McQuain Wolf, 93, of Blacksburg, VA and formerly of Franklin, WV passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg.
She was born March 12, 1924 in the family home on Sandy Ridge near Franklin and was the daughter of the late Albert Wimer and Amanda Eye Wimer.
Gladys grew up on Sandy Ridge until her parents moved to Franklin in 1934, and lived there until her marriage to Everette C. McQuain in 1949. She then lived in Staunton, VA until returning to Franklin in 1956.
Gladys worked at the HP Store in Franklin, and for many years at The Pendleton Times, where she enjoyed meeting people from all over Pendleton County.
She married John H. Wolf, Sr., of Oakland, MD, in 1981, after which she split her time between Oakland and Franklin, returning to Franklin after the death of her husband in 1991.
In 2006, she moved to Blacksburg, VA and lived there in the Warm Hearth Retirement Community until her death.
She was a life-long member of the Franklin United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School classes and singing in the choir there for many years. She loved music, and enjoyed many activities, especially raising flowers and tomatoes and doing needlework. She won several prizes for her quilts.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Carl Wimer; her first husband, Everette C. McQuain,her second husband, John H. Wolf, Sr. and a grandson, John H. Wolf III.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM.
Inurnment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the following charities that Gladys supported: American Cancer Society, Boys Town or the Wounded Warriors Project.
