NOTE: Due to inclement weather, services have been changed from Saturday, February 15 to Monday, February 17 Gibby "Gib" Sage, 68, of Martinsburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg. Gib was born April 11, 1945 in Marlinton, WV and was the son of the late Ray and Mildred Sage. He served in the U.S. Navy, receiving a "National Defense Service Medal" and was honorably discharged in 1967. Gib played music in the Berkeley County area during the 70's and that talent earned him a recording contract in Nashville, where he released four original songs. He was well loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are - One daughter - Lori Ann Sage of Leesburg, VA One brother - Kale Sage of Ohio Two sisters - Rebecca Vaughn and Charma Doss of Ohio And his former wives - Shirley Gallaher Dearing and Theresa Brown Sage Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two sisters, Sheila Sue Sage and Josetta Moore and three brothers, Ray Lewis Sage, Terry Sage and Thomas Sage. Funeral services will be held in Gib's hometown of Marlinton, West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM MONDAY, February 17, 2014 at Kimble Funeral Home, 18942 Seneca Trail, Marlinton, WV 24954. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM MONDAY at Kimble Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Clark officiating. Interment will be at the Gibson Cemetery near Slaty Fork, WV with military graveside services conducted by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps. A reception will follow at Mount View Assembly of God Church. Due to inclement weather, flowers are not preferred.
