Genevieve Elizabeth Glover, 86, of Franklin, West Virginia and Harrisonburg, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 10, 2024.  Her sudden passing has left an unfillable void.

She was born December 6, 1937 at Hunting Ground (Pendleton County) and was the daughter of the late Conda Roy and Betty Elizabeth Warner Sponaugle.

After graduating from Circleville High School in 1955, she worked for a short time at a bank in Washington, D.C., but then returned to her beloved Pendleton County.  She retired after 36 years as financial secretary for the Pendleton County Board of Education.  Mrs. Glover served as mayor, town council member and recorder for the Town of Franklin and retired in 2023 after 35 years of service to her community.  She was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and she and her husband enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Treasure Mountain Swingers. Her favorite pastimes were reading, sewing, and flowers and she loved spending time with her family.

On October 13, 1957 she married Denny G. Glover, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2011.  A sister, Norma Jean Quigley, and a special companion, Leland Propst, also predeceased her.

Several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 14 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 15 at Franklin United Methodist Church on Main Street with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
