Fred Clinton Kimble, Jr., 85, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin.

He was born December 24, 1935 at Upper Tract and was the son of the late Fred Clinton Kimble, Sr. and Eula Mae Hedrick Kimble.

J.R. served in the U.S. Army.  He was a truck driver for 46 years, driving for V. R. Mowery, Allied Egry and North-South Lines in Harrisonburg, VA.  During this time, he bought his own truck and started Fred Kimble Trucking.  In the early 1970s, he operated Hedrick and Kimble Sales with his uncle, Johnny Hedrick.  J.R. then went out on his own, opening Kimble's Lawn and Garden, which he operated along with his wife, and his nephew, Steve Judy, as his mechanic. He continued to run the business until his passing. J.R. was a member of the Petersburg Church of God.

His wife, Mary Ruth Nelson Kimble, preceded him in death on January 31, 2006.  A brother, Norman Kimble, and a sister, Bonnie Judy also predeceased him.

And a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 22 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Johnny Goldizen officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract.
